Leipzig, mdr-tower

The MDR Tower was built between 1968 and 1972 designed by Herman Henselman. With a total length of 142, 5 metres it is the tallest building in the city of Leipzig. It was first in use for the university and since 2001 after a renovation by Peter Kulka it houses the MDR television and several panorama restaurants with observation platforms. Because of the façade it looks like an opened book. It is owned by the US-Investmentbank Merrill Lynch.
