Munich, Olympic Stadium

The Olympiastadion is a stadium located in Munich, located in the Olympiapark and was built as the main venue for the 1972 Summer Olympics. It was designed by the German architect Guenther Behnisch and the engineer Frei Otto, and has got a capacity of 80,000 people. It consists of large sweeping canopies of acrylic glass stabilized by steel cables and reminds to the Alps. After the Olympic Games it became home of the regional soccer clubs and was used for several sports competitions and pop concerts.
