Munich, Frauenkirche

The Frauenkirche is the largest church in the Bavarian capital of Munich. The Frauenkirche was constructed from red brick in the late Gothic style within only 20 years. The building is designed very demure without rich gothic ornaments. The structure is 109 metres tall and 40 metres wide. It was designed by Joerg von Halsbach and it was consecrated in 1494 while the domes were added in 1524. The interior of the cathedral consists of three naves of equal height, 31metres, and can hold around 20,000 people. Inside of the church is the memorial grave in black marble of Prince Elector Kurfürst Maximilian I.
