Jiang Zhenqing: clam fishers

Shellfish and shrimp fishing along the Chinese coast go back over 6,000 years. As is common in China, it is many hands and not machines that do the work. Jiang Zhenqing has decided to show winter and rainy season images and surrounds the fishermen earning their bread in a stirring drama. We see heavy dark clouds or the piercing cold floating towards us. Life can be hard in China. The pictures not only capture a situation in life but through the graphic design and emotional intensity reach further than pure documentation would.
