Fazlur Kahn (1929 - 1982)

Khan was born in Dhaka, East Pakistan in 1929. He was a structural engineer.
Khan was a visionary. He is manly known for or his designs of structural systems that remain fundamental to all high- rise buildings. Khan received his bachelor’s degree from the University of Dhaka in 1951. A Pakistani government scholarship enabled him to travel to the United States in 1952 where he studied at the University of Illinois. In three years Khan earned two Master's degrees, one in structural engineering and the second in theoretical and applied mechanics and a PhD in structural engineering. Later he was employed by Skidmore, Owings and Merrill.
He died in 1982.
