Perhaps there’s no simpler way to gauge a new building’s hold on its city’s collective imagination than by noting the frequency with which passersby feel compelled to pull out their cameras. If true, then Hearst Tower has few equals among the architectural paparazzi – jaw-dropping tourists and jaded townsfolk alike who jostle to capture its unique form with their lens. In their attempts to shoot its interior lobby, they can be charmingly brazen. But then, so is Hearst Tower.

Sparkasse Siegen started to work with me in 2010 on a series of industrial and cultural heritage architecture of Siegerland.
In 2003 Richard Wendorf, the present director of The Boston Athenaeum, found my work at a London gallery in Museum Street, close to the British Museum. Soon after we started a conversation I visited the Athenaeum in spring 2004. From then on we planed a commission for the bicentienal in 2007.
In 2006 The Boston Athenaeum invited me for a commission to photograph my first real series of interiors at this beautiful old library, which becomes an exhibition and publication early 2008.
The New Art Gallery is located in the centre of the West Midlands town of Walsall, England. The gallery, which is clad in terracotta was designed by Caruso St John and opened to the public in January 2000.
