Kunstküche - An action Day for art in Siegen
This year is the opening of Art Summer with the "Kunstküche" (engl. art cuisine), a common action day from nine organizers in the city center of Siegen. My studio is also open on this day.
Culinary and artistic delicacies for body and soul
Siegen Action Day "Kunstküche" invites you to enjoy with all your senses on May 2
Witch cocktails as an appetizer, newspaper dumplings and pizza "Quattro Colore" as a main course and Caravaggio's fruit for dessert - the Siegener "Kunstküche" action day on May 2 offers a menu at its best for art lovers and gourmets. On the art mile from the Fürst-Johann-Moritz-Strasse to the Oberes Schloss large and small visitors can participate in events around the topic of food and art, while of course the physical well-being is not forgotten. "Our museum foyer, for example, is turned into a café artificially with a delicious cake buffet and you can listen to the sounds of a kitchen orchestra in the exhibition," says Eva Schmidt, director of the Museum of Contemporary Art. The action day, which will be jointly organized by nine organizers, will be opened on May 2 at 11 am in the Lustgarten at Kornmarkt by the patron Mayor Steffen Mues. Admission is free for all events.

Atelier Friedrichstrasse: Das tägliche Allerlei
"The artist does not get up until noon", "Breadless art", "the artist drinks red wine", "artists lead an excessive life ", such and other clichés accompany the today highly professional artist in his daily life.
This everyday life has nothing to do with these stereotypes anymore. With Thomas Kellner the work usually begins in the morning between 7 am and 8 am and usually goes until 8 or 10 pm. A high degree of discipline and organization is needed if you want to move internationally as an artist across all time zones of the globe.
"Das tägliche Allerlei" is not only an open studio, it is a working approach in which the artist Thomas Kellner, who lives in Siegen, linked and visualized work tasks, goals, communication, experiments and work samples on the walls of his studio and places the everyday life of his studio and office operations in the foreground. For this open studio, it will neither cleaned up nor pictures will be hung promotionally effective on the wall, the studio does not become a museum "White Cube". Rather, the goal is to make clear to the visitor what an artist's day-to-day work looks like in times of worldwide networking. New clichés are welcome.
All events are open from 11am to 6pm on this day
