“Questioning evolved iconographs and usual image expectations offer Kellner new approaches in composition and meaning from object to object, from image solution to image solution.” Zehnder, Professor Frank Günter, PhD (Übersetzung von:Thomas, Nelly) Farbwelt 135-36 Kreis Düren, 2010, Düren, page 47

Siegen. At the end of September, Thomas Kellner opens the doors of his studio in Siegen, Friedrichstrasse 42 for three days, from September 23 to 25, 2016 to the public.
After the successful start of the year with his exhibition Black & White in January in the Siegen Art Gallery, which has already been booked for at least seven further stations, Kellner will be showing people pictures at his open studio. Thomas Kellner is known primarily for his pictures of seemingly dancing architectures, but he has been making portraits over and over again for many years, dedicating himself to the image of man. For example, in the presentation of his studio early 11-hole work and Sixtorama of the 90s can be seen, as well as his colorful Quicksnaps of fellow students and professors mid-90s. In 2006, the series "People of Deyang" was created, similar to a case study of portraits on the streets of Siegener's sister city Deyang in China. Already at the beginning of 2000, he began to disassemble portraits in the contact sheet in addition to the architectures, which he continued in color in 2016.
