Arendt was a Jewish German-American political theorist, journalist and philosopher. After emigrating from Germany during the Nazi persecution of the Jews, she worked as a university teacher and journalist in the United States. Throughout her life, she has made many contributions to political philosophy, arguing that everyone deserves equality and potential freedom in politics.
