Jean-Francois Lyotard: * 10. August 1924 in Versailles; † 21. April 1998 in Paris.
Kindheitslektüren, (Hg. von Peter Engelmann), Wien 1995 (Passagen Verlag).
Lyotard was a French philosopher and literary theorist. Most influential were his theories of postmodernism. Unlike philosophers of the Enlightenment, he does not assume an omnipotence of reason, but also grants a strong influence of human’s instinctual inclinations on their behavior and knowledge.
