ANNIVERSARY OF GALLERI IMAGE - Scandinavia's oldest exhibition space for photography
This year Galleri Image - Scandinavia's oldest exhibition space for photography - celebrates its 35th anniversary. We are marking this event with an exhibition entitled A collection created by Danish artist Lasse Krog Møller. The gallery will be turned literally inside out, with objects from the archives and works from Image Collection exhibited so as to form a labyrinthine tour of the gallery's historic rooms.
Within this spatial installation, the visitor will have a chance to obtain a museum-like view of the gallery's collection. All the objects which over the years have piled up in the gallery will be on display again: furniture, records, office supplies - along with reminiscences of previous exhibitions in the form of frames, unsold catalogues, exhibition documents, slides and lost property. In addition, selected works from Image Collection - Galleri Image's collection of works donated by some of the more than 400 artists who over the years have exhibited in the gallery - also will be on display.
Collections are a recurring theme in Lasse Krog Møller's artistic production. In this staging of Galleri Image's furniture and objects, the artist mimes a museum-like treatment of historical objects, and by doing so contrives to give us the history of a unique institution. More generally, the exhibition provides fertile ground for reflection on the significance of objects and collections.
In conjunction with the exhibition, an album edited by Lasse Krog Møller will present a historically inspired examination of the gallery's items. Author Gitte Broeng and art historian Kathrine Svanum Andersen contribute to this edition with a drama and a text on collections.
A richly illustrated exhibition catalogue will be available separately.
Lasse Krog Møller (b. 1972) graduated from The Jutland Art Academy in 2001. In his work he is primarily concerned with recording and cataloguing some of the world's more diminutive objects and concepts. Drawing on collection and archival designs, he transforms these into installations, objects, photographs, texts, drawings and books - often all of these things at once. His work has been exhibited in numerous outlets. Recent shows include Thing from the Greece Gropers Foundation (with Jeuno JE Kim) at Overgaden Institute of Contemporary Art, and Artists' Books: Book objects and visual poetry in Kunsthal Nord. Lasse Krog Møller is co-founder and editor at the publishing house and magazine * [asterisk]. He is the author of An expedition across the white sand (2011).

The Demo Room presents:
An installation based upon Gitte Broeng's one-act play Inventories
The work is based upon the play Inventories, in which three characters (Corfits Trolle, Enevold Parsberg and Thomas Bartholin) have been commissioned to prepare an inventory of all the many objects found in the King's Kunstkammer in 1674.
The installation is made by Lasse Krog Møller, and is on display throughout the exhibition period.
