Work is part of everyday life in the global self-image. But what if an artistic look in search of individual patterns is devoted to this topic with a sense of irony, inspiration or philosophy? The result shows the current (virtual) exhibition in the old fire station. PATTERNS OF WORK builds on the last successful international poster project EXERCISES WITH STONES (2018) with nine exhibitions in four countries and 57 artists from 17 countries. The now third international poster project of the Alte Feuerwache Loschwitz Dresden gallery, curated by Holger Wendland, starts on April 9, 2020 with works by 50 artists from 22 countries and will again travel through different galleries worldwide every two years. Our partners from Japan “Local Ship” in Kyoto have agreed to participate again. Galleries and art spaces such as the Alte Bäckerei in Großhennersdorf, the ART FACTORY FLOX in Kirschau and locations in Weißwasser have registered an interest in an exhibition. Other exhibition spaces are in the sights of the organization.

The PATTERNS OF WORK project is accompanied by the sounds of the composition AGGRETnEUROPE - WoldWideWorknoise by Robert Zeißig, which was technically implemented together with Eric Heyde: Quiet nature recordings, the noise of a computer workstation, the bustle of a consulting center, the noise of a grinding machine - over 30 sound recordings by Work from all over the world is the basis of this composition. Inspired by the work of the Soviet filmmaker and field recording pioneer Dziga Vertov, these sounds now accompany virtual visitors into a wide variety of working environments.
