Lluís Domènech i Montaner (1850 - 1923)
Lluís Domènech i Montaner Barcelona was born in 1850 in Barcelona. He was a Catalan architect, who was influenced on Jugendstil movement. Further he has been a prominent Catalan politician. He played an important role in defining the Modernism architecture movement in Catalonia.
Domènech i Montaner initially studied physics and natural sciences and switched soon to architecture. He was professor and director for 45 years at the Architecture School in Barcelona. In this time he also wrote articles for architecture magazines.
Domènech I Montaner died in 1923.
