Franz Schwechten (1841-1924)
Franz Heinrich Schwechten was born in 1841 in Cologne.He was a famous German architect of historism. Schwechten got his education from Friedrich Adler, August Schueler and Martin Gropius at the Building Academy in Berlin from 1861 to 1869. In 1869 he won the Schinkel- prize. From 1871 up he was the chief- architect of the Berlin- Anhalter- Bahn and became am member of the Academy of Arts in Berlin.Schwechten died in 1924 and is buried at the cemetery Alt- Schöneberg in Berlin.
