Muenchen, BMW-Tower
The BMW Tower is the headquarters of Bayerische Motoren Werke AG, the largest company in the north of Munich. The Tower was designed by the Viennese architect Karl Schwanzer and was completed in 1972, just before the Olympics took place in Munich. Its inauguration followed on 18 May 1973. The main tower consists of four vertical cylinders standing next to and across from each other. Each cylinder is divided horizontally in its centre by a mold in the facade. The tower has a diameter of 52.30 metres and a total height of 101 metres.
