Palace of Culture and Science
The Palace of Culture and Science is the tallest building in Poland, with a height of 237 metres. Construction started in 1952 and lasted until 1955. The main architect Lev Rudnev incorporated some Polish architectural details into the project by travelling around Poland and seeing the architecture, but still the most Poles associate the building with the Soviet domination and so it is obnoxious. The building is used for transmitting radio and TV channels and it has got an observation platform.
