Karin Hillmer - Siegen/New York - Camera Arts magazine and exhibition sternklar
Karin Hillmer's photography will grace the cover of renowned American magazine Camera Arts in January/February. In an interview, she describes her path to art and photography, which began by studying Art History, Drawing, Painting and Photography at the State University in New York. In 1989 Karin Hillmer contracted leukemia, which she was able to overcome thanks to a bone marrow transplant. She does not feel like a survivor, but "her eyes were opened" and she sees the world differently today.
Karin Hillmer's works were on display 12 months ago in a solo exhibition at the Art Galerie in Siegen.
Until the end of February, her works will continue to hang at the Hindenburgstraße. For over a year, the Sternklargalerie, in cooperation with the Art Galerie, will show different artists from both their rosters, in different environments. Come and enjoy some coffee and art at Sternklar.
