KunstSommer 2011: The collector's Eye
The Siegen fine art photographerThomas Kellner is calling for participation in his exhibition "In the eye of the collector"! The project will take place as part of the 13th KunstSommer from 30.04.2011 - 07.05.2011 in Kellner's studio in Friedrichstraße. That's why his buyers and collectors are now in demand:
"I'm asking everyone, really everyone, who has ever bought a painting of mine to take part in this campaign. It could be a really great thing! I have already received some very exciting and sometimes extremely funny submissions, but I hope that I can persuade even more people to send me their photos! I would be delighted to receive new material. Take courage - take pictures!", says Kellner about his anticipation of the project and the response so far.
For 20 years now, art lovers from all over the world have been acquiring the Siegen artist's pictures, making them part of their personal environment. So what could be more natural than to focus on the photo-interested collectors themselves? Their submissions provide exciting insights and show the artwork as they experience it - "In the eye of the collector": whether at home in the ambience of homely comfort, in the depot, the drawer, in the collector's exhibition alongside other artists, as part of a new work (perhaps as a collage!) or as the background for a portrait - there are no limits to creativity.
