Ana Lucia Mariz, Sao Paulo, Brazil
Ana Lucia Mariz was born in San Paolo, Brazil in 1965. She is graduated in Social Communication in 1988. She has been photographing for 18 years. She started working with commercial photography; she is a member and curatorial counsel of Abrafoto, the Brazilian Association of Professional Photographers. She always studies photography languages, as B&W, Polaroids, Saltpaper, collages in her authorial works.
She has a lot of exhibitions in important Brazil’s Museums and some in Europe. As Pinacoteca do Estado de San Paolo; MASP, São Paulo / Brazil; MAM BA, Salvador/ Brazil; Biblioteca Nacional, Brasília/ Brazil; Point Ephémère- Centre de Dynamiques Artistiques – Paris/ France; Museum Ludwig – Koblenz /Germany. She was studying photography in international places, as Studio Marangoni in Florence, Italy and in The Maine Photographic Workshops in Rockport, USA.
Secret Soul, her documentary project that retract ruins and old historical buildings in Brazil had a book published in 2006 and has been incorporated of the 16° Pirelli MASP Photo Collection in 2007.

Her ongoing photo-documentary, Baianas de Acarajé, continues to grow with new historical research and intimate images including street photos about this popular religion parties.
