Toby Smith, aged 31, graduated with Ma Contemporary Photography from London College of Communication in December 2008. This was after both spending time employed in the British Army Infantry and 2 years working across East and Central Africa utilizing his BSc in Environmental Science. Now based in London, he is represented by “Reportage by Getty Images” and his focus lies on large scale projects concerning environmental issues for publication, exhibition, and advocacy.

The Pier
A piece of critical work produced in response to the recent metrological and economic collapse of Britain.
Brighton Pier having remained derelict for over 40 years has been a victim of arson on 2 occasions. Its remains off the sea shore has neither been cleared nor redeveloped. It’s bright layer of snow represents the freak weather event which saw snow on the South Coast at a level not seen for over 18 years.
