Lu Jun, Chinese Real Estate Dream
Classical Chinese landscape images seem to approach us on these large canvases by Lu Jun. It is one of those art forms, which the West hardly ever dealt with. You really need to be a fan of Chinese culture in order to develop a relationship to the traditional Chinese art forms. However, in Lu Jun’s work, these turn out to deceive the eye. Only at first glance do the landscapes match exactly that tradition. They are nevertheless based on Chinese digital age and thereby ultra-photographic. The basis of these images are chemigrams, pure images from the interaction of chemistry and paper, usually even without light. On the computer, Lu Jun then develops the shapes and colors into contemporary images of the traditional Chinese art.
