In 1996 I learned that Eric Renner from Pinhole Resource in San Lorenzo / New Mexico was coming to the Rencontres de la Photographie in Arles, south of France. As he was coming to Europe, I suggested to the University that he be invited for a speech and a workshop in Siegen. Renner had  previously published a lot of my work and submitted a text for our project "Zwischenzeit". This was a great opportunity to meet him personally and, of course, to connect institution of international renown to my town and the University of Siegen.
