American Images
This anthology of the Siegen-based artist, appearing on the occasion of his exhibition at the American Museum in Bath, England, includes texts on his American works, such as the Boston Athenaeum, the Hearst Tower, the mission control center in Houston, the Golden Gate Bridge, the Capitol in Wahington D.C., or the Grand Canyon. Richard Wendorf, Roy Flukinger, Freddy Langer, Alison Nordstrom, Allison Pappas and Roger Watson introduce the work of the artist in some new essays.
Thomas Kellner (Bonn 1966) is a German fine art photographer known for his photographs of dancing buildings and interiors from around the world. For over two decades, the author has been exploring the pictorial possibilities of the contact sheet, drawing inspiration in particular from American cities, architecture and landscapes.
Prof. Dr. Irina Chmyreva has described his work as unique "Visual Analytical Synthesis". In which he does not only one shot, but many planned ones are shot in series in order to merge them into contact sheets.
