Charles Percier (1764 - 1838)
Percier was born in Paris in 1764. He was a French architect and interior decorator. He studied at the Académie royale d'architecture in Paris. His teachers were Antoine-François and Professor J.-D. Le Roy (1724-1803). At the same time, he worked for PA Paris. In collaboration with his fellow students Pierre-Francois-Leonard Fontaine, Together, the two architects of the consulate during the renovation and equipment of the chateau Malmaison. The training in this 1766 by the painter Jean-Jacques Bachelier (1724-1806) founded school continuity of the classic mould of Italian repertoire, mannerism and style of Louis XIV. In the years 1773 to 1779 was the first stage of his artistic career, during which he became the architect of the Emperor Napoleon I and authoritative decorator of to the Empire. He died in 1838 in Paris.
