Paris, Eiffel Tower
The Eiffel Tower was built for the World Exhibition in 1889, held in celebration of the French Revolution in 1789. The Tower was constructed by Gustave Eiffel, who also constructs the Statue of Liberty's iron framework and it took more than two years to complete. It is 300 meters high and until the completion of the Chrysler Building in 1930 it was the tallest structure in the world. Since the beginning of the 20th century, the tower has been used for radio transmission and observation. The Eiffel Tower is the most visited paid monument in the world.
