Exhibition of Editions at Neuer Kunstverein Giessen

Editionen at Neuer Kunstverein Giessen

Gießen. On July 7, 2024, the Neue Kunstverein Giessen e.V. celebrated its 25th anniversary. To mark the occasion, works by artists who have exhibited at the Giessen Kunstverein over the past 25 years will be presented.
The Neuer Kunstverein Gießen is the smallest art association in Germany and exhibits renowned works of art in an area of just 11 square meters. Among the artists on display is the photographic artist Thomas Kellner, who is best known for his works of deconstructed architecture. The exhibition will feature his edition “Gießen-Facades”, a work showing the Gießen Kunstverein covered in gray-blue pixels.
This edition refers to a project from 2004, in which Kellner dissolved the exterior façade of the Kunstverein, which measures square meters, into pixels and covered it with them. At that time, reality and virtuality materialized at a street intersection in Giessen. Twenty years later, this work,ALS Print now returns to the interior of the Kunstverein.
